PRESS RELEASE
GéoLean: the birth of an actor who is “revolutionizing” production methods, without “revolutionizing” the company!
Through an entirely innovative approach, GéoLean, expert in Lean Manufacturing, obtains gains in productivity ranging from 20 to 60%
Lean Manufacturing is recognized in the industrial world but is under or poorly developed because of a lack of skill. But thanks to GéoLean, Lean Manufacturing becomes a reality. Specialized in the installation of Lean as a turnkey rollout, GéoLean provides the solution in order to increase an industrial company’s profitability immediately, without any additional investment. This innovative approach comes from the unique know-how of its founder who has transformed over 150 plants around the world. GéoLean’s performance record, since its creation just 18 months ago, confirms the solidity of its offer: a 2 million¬ euro order book and a team of 11 employees!
Lean Manufacturing: a system that has proven itself
Although the Lean Manufacturing production system, based on the “strict minimum”, really does allow an industrial activity’s performance to be increased, the creation of GéoLean stems from the observance that few manufacturing companies actually succeed in implementing it. Indeed, the objective of Lean consists in reducing production costs and in increasing Cash and Net income immediately, by making use of what already exists and by eliminating any waste in the production system. Lean is inspired by the Toyota Production System (T.P.S.), a system invented by Toyota, which has allowed this manufacturer to become the industrial world’s reference in terms of profitability and quality.
GéoLean: unique know how in the integration of Lean
Daniel Marco, GéoLean’s founder, is an expert and enthusiast who has acquired unique knowledge of this production system. Indeed, during his studies as an engineer, he received practical training with Toyota’s greatest T.P.S experts. He then developed and implemented this production system for more than 15 years as Production System Manager for Faurecia, one of the top 10 automobile equipment manufacturers. He had to transform the group’s 150 plants into Lean operations himself, by training its teams, and wasn’t able to find any outside skills to help. The conclusion that he drew from his experience was that Lean was not able to fulfill all of its promises, simply because no service provider knew how to set it up. After having identified strong demand for it in the market, he decided to create GéoLean, and through this a new career: that of an installer of Lean.
Installation: “do it together” all the way to the end with the customer
The effectiveness and the added value of GéoLean are based on its direct in the plant intervention with production teams. For GéoLean, installation is the key to success, not simple coaching. Thanks to this entirely innovative approach, GéoLean guarantees immediate results: from 20% up to 60% in savings. GéoLean carries out an accurate on site examination of the actual gains that the company is going to be able to generate, i.e. those that can make a difference on the income statement and in the cash position. For example, freeing up 30% of an operator’s work has no interest if he does nothing with the 30%, and reducing off-line or work in progress inventories without removing them completely from the plant has no impact on cash flow.
A unique turnkey method
The other aspect that differentiates GéoLean is its method associated with its global view of Lean. Daniel Marco has formalized his unique experience in the field in the form of systematic use of the tools and methods that apply, regardless of the company’s business sector. This turnkey method is based on:
• products that correspond to special types of situations (model line, acquisition sites, etc.)
• the installation which takes into account the various Lean tools from an overall viewpoint or in a precise situation and not in an isolated context, which is contrary to what service providers usually offer
• physical items needed for the installation (dynamic racks, type of small train, small boxes, charts, operator communication, etc.)
Consultants with pluridisciplinary profiles
GéoLean now employs 11 people. The determining criterion for recruitment at GéoLean is not based on a prestigious background, which is what is traditionally sought in the world of consulting, but on the ability to install one of Lean’s components and to adhere to GéoLean’s philosophy. For this, consultants benefit from rigorous in house training by specialty and by tool. The team is therefore made up of very different yet complementary profiles that can converse in the language spoken by all of the internal contacts of the customer company.
No investment and a long lasting system
The “pay back” that GéoLean’s missions generate works in a way that there is no investment and no revolution in the company. By building along with the company’s internal teams, GéoLean teaches them how to reproduce and transfers its know how through practice. Systems rolled out by GéoLean therefore operate in a stable and long lasting manner, providing continuity in gains because they are installed with a methodology that can be reproduced.
“Using the foundations of Lean inspired by the Toyota Production System, our approach is more of an installation one than a consulting one. It is through implementing a turnkey setup that the transfer of knowledge takes place,
“emphasizes Daniel Marco, General Manager and founder of Géolean. After having experimented with Lean at the four corners of the planet, Lean fulfils its promises once it is correctly mastered and applied”.
